This post is a note to selves… Next year when taking photographs of our annual Turkey Day Disc Golf (TDDG) we should remember the following:
- use a tripod
- use the flash for single shots only
- primarily use burst mode
- shoot in raw, unless you want to take longer burst (my 20D can do about 6 raws before pausing, but I know with jpegs it can do more)
- keep the sun behind the photographer
- get shots from in front and behind the thrower
- keep shooting until the disc stops
- start shooting as the thrower winds up
- keep spectators from clustering behind the thrower, unless they are posing for the picture
Any more that I missed? The I bolded the critical ones.

Each photo will take you to a new photo gallery on Perszyk.com. Two Arcadia ones, some disc golf, and a hair cut.

Tysen has been showing cannibilistic tendencies ever since Arcadia has arrived. He’s very interested in eating her chubby cheeks and chin. Why this morning, he even discussed basting Arcadia in butter, and suggested the idea of deep frying her and of course topping her with hot sauce. Don’t worry though, I’m keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn’t follow through!

Arcadia has had quite a busy social calendar since birth. On Wednesday, Nov. 12th, she checked out IKEA with mom and dad. Then, on Thursday, Nov. 13th, Arcadia accompanied her mom to Book Club, where she met, Ami, Erin, Soumya, and Carrie. We didn’t stay for book club, just made a cameo appearance. Then, we had to stop at Target for a diaper refill.
The next day, Lauren, a friend from high school, came to visit us and brought lunch. Arcadia slept through most of the visit, but she made sure to show off her cuteness!

And, on Sunday, Nov. 16th, Trisha, a friend of mom’s from the DEQ, came to visit us. She brought Arcadia a new outfit, hat, and bouncy/vibrate chair, which she loves.
Next to come, more family comes to visit…G’ma Sara, Unkle Riley, and Amelia.

I am now “developing” the photos that I “scanned” in previously. Here is what it looks like:

The photo that I am working on has already been cropped.

A few nights ago around 2 am I was sitting in bed pecking away at the computer. Kathryn, who was sleeping next to me, started to wake up.
“TYSEN, where is the baby’s head!”
“What?”
Kathryn was sleeping on her side with her arm under her pillows. She began frantically pawing at her right elbow and pillow cases, apparently searching for Arcadia’s head. You will note that Kathryn showed no concern for the rest of Arcadia’s body.
“What did you do with the baby’s head! Where is her head?”
“Honey, the baby is in the crib.”
“What?”
I had recently de-pooped Arcadia and positioned her in her crib to sleep. Apparently, sleepy semi-conscious Kathryn doubted my parenting abilities.
