Oh, by the way I got a new laptop. Pretty spiffy. More on that later. After several instances I have come to the conclusion that Arcadia enjoys music visualizations on the computer. Today I installed WinAmp on my new laptop and queued up some tunes. I turned on the Milkdrop visulization plug-in and not only did I notice that I must have gotten a new version of the plug-in but I also watched Arcadia as she stared intently to the swirling colors. Several times before I had played music on our TV computer, complete with visulization eye candy, and like today Arcadia sat quitely and watched raptly for a long while. Maybe this is a sign that she will take to the visual world of art.

The weather reports of snow finally came true! Today Arcadia and I woke up to snow, and its been snowing all day. So, I bundled Arcadia up and we ventured outsite. Since I wanted to take her photo, Tysen suggested I just take her outside in her chair, which worked out well. I don’t know how much she enjoyed it, but we documented it anyway.

Kathryn and I finished this cool 1500 piece Star Wars puzzle on Wednesday night. I was planning on taking a picture of it to post here, but wanted to wait till the weekend. Earlier this morning we were at the game store and decided to get a puzzle mat since the puzzle prevented from eating at the dinner table earlier this week. However, Zero decided that he wasn’t getting enough attention and destroyed the puzzle.

Arcadia has officially grown out of her footed onesies/sleepers sized 0-3 months. On Tuesday, Tysen and I were both home from work, avoiding the crazy inaugartion traffic, and Arcadia was soo fussy. This was a shock to us because normally she is a very happy baby. So all day Tysen and I traded off trying to soothe her. It took us all day t figure it out, but we finally realized she was fussing because her outfit was too small. Once we changed her into a less restrictive outfit, she was back to normal, smiling and cooing away.
Here’s a picture of her taken today in a footed sleeper size 3-6 months. She’s much happier!

With Arcadia getting on more of a traditional sleep schedule, I’ve wanted to get back into reading. I was going to read one of Tysen’s deep thought books, but decided I needed to start with something much simpler. While home last week I trekked to the library and picked up a copy of Stuart Woods’ new novel Hot Mahogany. I like reading Stuart Woods because he writes short chapters and the books go really fast. He has a few character series, of which I’ve read all of his Stone Barrington and Holly Barker books. Hot Mahogany was the latest book in his Stone Barrington series and was about stolen antique furniture. Stone is an unorthodox attorney who helps recover a man who’s antique mahogany secretary was stolen. The story is good because it keeps you guessing as to who the culprit is and takes you on side stories to keep it interesting. If you are ever looking for quick reads, Stuart Woods is definitely an author to check out.
