First, an update on food made with last weeks veggies: We had a salad, potato gnocci, apple coleslaw, and zucchini orzo “risotto” with feta. All were very yummy, although I’ll have to perfect my technique for cooking potatoes. Some of our pasta had hard lumps of potato in them. Also, RKDy got some pear puree and mashed potato from the share. Last week I also made cookies & cream cheesecakes. While these didn’t use CSA veggies, they were yummy so I thought I’d share the recipe. I only made half the recipe as we were just having a few people over for an impromptu game party.
On to week 6: The fruit share started this week! We got peaches and Lodi apples. And finally, I included the eggs in the photo below. There’s no set plan for any of these foods yet, except to make cucumber sandwiches. And, we’ll have to cook up some eggs since we still have our 1/2 dozen from last week.
