More Animals at Redington Manor!

Sorry, but these cute frogs were not engaged in any kind of mating ritual, but simply hanging out inside our outdoor table umbrella. We found them when we opened up the umbrella last week.

More sewing!

A few weeks ago I made Arcadia a “Playdate Dress” from the tutorial on Craftiness is Not Optional.  The tutorial includes a pattern for a 2T dress, but I thought that might be a bit small, so I constructed my own pattern for an approximate 3T size.  The fabric I used was once a t-shirt of mine which was a size small, so the dress ended up being a little short so Arcadia has worn the dress with leggings.  After this picture was taken, a pocket was added as per the tutorial.  Arcadia was a little upset that I didn’t give her 2 pockets, but one pocket was just enough.

Next up was a beach robe using the pattern and instructions from MADE.  I got my towels (I used 2 regular Dri Soft bath towels) from Bed Bath & Beyond a while back, but just didn’t have the motivation to get the robe constructed until Arcadia’s swim lessons were over (of course!).  The hood lining is from a sea turtle fat quarter I had in my stash.  I made the 3T-4T size figuring it would last longer and Arcadia has her second set of swim lessons starting in a few weeks, so we’ll get to see it in action soon.  Until then, I tried to get her to model the robe for me and she was all over the place.  This is the best photo I got, most of the others were blurry because she wouldn’t sit still.

And finally, my most recent project from this past weekend was sewing another snappy toddler top with matching diaper cover, size 6-12 months.  This was made for my friend Maria whose due to have a little girl in just a few weeks.  I also made a little ladybug tag toy to accompany the dress after I saw this post on Craftiness is Not Optional.

What’s happened here?

So we made most of the posts private.  Kathryn will be publicizing her crafting posts (if she get’s around to it) and I’m going to post some photos public going forward.  What this means is that if you want to join in the fun then you need a Perszyk+ account.  Just email us and we’ll get one setup for you.  If you have a preferred username just mention it.  To get announcements about posts or comments we’re working on a WordPress to Twitter connection.  More on that later.
