We have new uninvited guests at our house. They’ve been in residence since last week. They live outside the fence, but do fly in to visit our pool from time to time. Here they are…..

Today I saw the first Goldfinch on my thistle seed sack! Since then I’ve seen several more, a breeding pair in full mating colors. I thought I’d give a run down of all of the identified birdies to date. The ones with an * are ones I saw all at once just a few minutes [...] Day #1 of Solo Daddy Duty is complete. Night #1 of Solo Daddy Duty is just beginning. My new feeder, pictured below, was knocked off it’s perch today. I was either the wind and the rain or mischievous squirrels spinning the feeder round and round like a record. I reassembled it, screwing the capping ring on [...] This is what happens when the squirrels eat too much and sit on your bird feeder. Since I’ve moved to Florida and watched the pelicans glide across the water so gracefully, I’ve decided I wanted to be a pelican in my next life. Now after spending time on my medicine walk, I may change that to a hawk (but more on that in another blog post). Here’s a pelican I watch [...] Sorry if the title misleads you into thinking you’d be getting to see attacking birds… that comes later.
