In an effort to beef up my share of posts I am writing this. Yippie! Anyway, I posted a long ago about being good a Ultimate. I must have been reading Sun Tzu’s Art of War at the time I wrote it. I don’t think I would have used “Tao” on my own. I don’t know what I was thinking, but me today could run circles around me back then. I must have just played well and it went to my head. I played well today and it has also gone to my head, however the most awesome part in a adolescent way was mostly the result of chance. I pulled the disc at a steep angle to compensate for the gusting wind. The disc curved high and then ricocheted off the ground directly into the groin of an opposing player. It nailed him so hard he had to leave the field. What were the chances of that happening? Crazy set of circumstances.

Kathryn was sleeping on her side with her arm under her pillows.  She began frantically pawing at her right [...]]]> A few nights ago around 2 am I was sitting in bed pecking away at the computer.  Kathryn, who was sleeping next to me, started to wake up.

“TYSEN, where is the baby’s head!”

“What?”

Kathryn was sleeping on her side with her arm under her pillows.  She began frantically pawing at her right elbow and pillow cases, apparently searching for Arcadia’s head.  You will note that Kathryn showed no concern for the rest of Arcadia’s body.

“What did you do with the baby’s head! Where is her head?”

“Honey, the baby is in the crib.”

“What?”

I had recently de-pooped Arcadia and positioned her in her crib to sleep.  Apparently, sleepy semi-conscious Kathryn doubted my parenting abilities.

Tuesday, Arcadia got her first bath.  Since her umbilical cord nub is still attached, we can’t give her a real bath, so a sponge bath was in order.  She got her hair washed and styled, then we moved on to wash her face, arms, chest, feet, and diaper area.  She did pretty well with the bath, only getting a bit fussy.

Also on Tuesday, Tysen tried out his new video game partner.  He’d always been saying how he was looking forward to sharing video games with his daughter.  Too bad for him, it will probably be a few years before she can actually participate.

The show either starts at 8 [...]]]> So Ratatat is in town… should be an awesome show. I’ve been into their stuff ever since it was used on NPR as their interlude music. The difficulty that I am having now is figuring out how to make the show an enjoyable experience for Kathryn. The show either starts at 8 pm or that’s when the doors open, it’s at the Black Cat, and there are two opening bands. Will she make it so late? Will she be hungry? Will she be able to sit or will her ankles swell up? I hope she can make it because my little baby girl needs to experience some great music!
